Internet Marketing The Wrong Way

I would still consider myself a newbie when it comes to Internet Marketing, although I had always had this undeniable urge to market something to the millions of customers who are eagerly waiting to buy from Online Marketers. When you think of the enormous potential of the millions that are already on the internet, you can’t help but wonder "What if I can sell something to at least a million people?"

I have always been intrigued with the Internet because of the information that is available to us now. You also hear people knocking it saying "Oh, you can’t believe anything you read on the Internet." You will also hear the comment " If it’s on the Internet, it’s probably a scam."

You have to decide the main reasons of why your are actually spending any of your time on the Internet. Some of us may spend hours and it has cut into family time and T.V. time, I don’t even watch T.V. anymore unless it is a special program.

There are some great Social Networks and great information sites on just about any topic you can imagine. Just keep in mind; there is an advertisement peeking out at you somewhere on almost every site you visit.

Search Engines offer a valuable service for marketers and information providers because there are millions of people searching for something everyday. So just think, almost everyone is selling something on Internet, so you may as well get into the game yourself. Be more observant the next time you do a search and look at the results, sometimes it is in the millions. Marketers rely on using "Key Words" in their articles, websites and any promotion, that is how you are lead to all these page results.

Distractions and curiosity are the main time killers for you on the internet that is a result of your search or the countless e-mails in your in-box. There was a time that I thought all these business opportunities were all great and I signed up to review a bunch of them and signed up to at least ten of them in the past 2 years because of their great sales pitch and sales letters. I just wrote it off as experience just to justify to myself the time and money I spent on my failed Internet Marketing Attempt. You have to decide exactly what you are going to market on how you are going to market on the Internet.

One thing leads to another. When I bought into my first Business Opportunity, I didn’t realize all the additional business expenses I was going to incur and run up my credit card real fast. I had to pay for a monthly Hosting Service, Leads, Software, Consulting fees from the hottest Guru on the Internet. The list can go on once you start and if you are not careful you could run into to same problems. Make sure you don’t buy into anything and everything.

Now it’s not to say that some of the methods out there don’t work, it all depends on what you are marketing and how you are marketing it.

One sure-fire way that you could end up blowing your whole advertising budget is by using Pay-Per-Click. Now these methods work, but you have to be able to budget and have the money to spend on your campaigns. I spent my whole monthly budget in one day on a "Key Word" that didn’t produce any sales. It produced search results, but it didn’t produce the sales I had expected. You can adjust your key words after your initial testing and take out the ones that are costing you too much.

Trial and Error, mostly error is how I learned about marketing on the Internet. After spending money I couldn’t afford to spend, I began researching other ways which lead me to ‘Article Marketing" which is what you are reading right now. This method has been around for a long time and it’s what feeds the Search Engines and also draws attention to your Web-Site or Landing Page and brings your site closer to the top when someone does a search for your product or niche.

Deciding what your are going to market,it should be something that you are comfortable with and having knowledge of, that is your niche. You may have an interest in music, crafts, books or just helping others find a good business opportunity that they can make money on.
