Make Money In Network Marketing

Because of all the negative press from those who have failed, many people wonder if you can actually make money in network marketing. The truth is that thousands of people are making money from network marketing. And with some work you can too.

Nowadays the internet is everywhere… even on buses. It has become a part of everyone’s daily life. For some the internet is their primary source of communication and information. This increases the opportunity for MLM’ers to attract targeted prospects and earn more money.

Online Network Marketing vs. Offline

As you know, there are two categories of marketing… online network marketing and traditional offline marketing. As the internet has proliferated, it has caused much debate around which method is more effective.

In reality you must use both offline and online marketing for maximum success. But be careful… I’m not advocating using the traditional offline methods like harassing friends and family, stalking people at Starbuck’s or driving unsuspecting friends to weekly hotel meetings. More on this later…

Some argue that one way is not necessarily better than the other. However, those that are making serious money through network marketing using traditional recruiting methods are the exception, not the rule. Very few have the skills to be successful with these used car salesman tactics.

Anyone can learn how to be successful marketing online. Even though marketing online has some huge advantages over marketing offline, you must still strike a balance between offline and online marketing methods to maximize your network marketing success.

Make Money in Network Marketing Online Advantages

1. The majority of people don’t like to harass friends and family about their business opportunities because it feels uncomfortable. Your friends and family probably aren’t interested in your MLM opportunity, so you get lots of rejection when approaching them. Online marketing tools attract only interested prospects so you get less rejection.

2. The internet works 24/7, so that means your online marketing tools are constantly attracting prospects to you. Your online marketing tools are working even when you’re sleeping.

Automation is another great tool that will save you tons of time everyday. Some of the online marketing tools that are automated include blogs and email autoresponders.

Statistics show that the majority of customers don’t purchase on the first contact. So you need repeated contacts with potential customers. Email autoresponders are a convenient way to keep "dripping" information on your prospects and keep them in your sales pipeline.

3. When using offline marketing tools, geographic location is often a problem. You’ve probably had to drive long distances to get to meetings.

Using online systems eliminates the need for travel, which saves you time and money. But more importantly, since the internet is worldwide you’ll have access to potential prospects all over the world… not just in your local community.

4. The entire process of attracting and selling prospects can be completed online, without taking any of your time. Yes, you had to spend time to create your online marketing tools in the beginning, but then no more time or effort is required from you. This leverages your time effectively.

5. Part of the MLM success is getting the pre-qualified prospects to join your downline. As we discussed earlier, using the internet gives you access to the largest pool of prospects.

When you try to recruit people offline, it’s more difficult because you must know the person directly or through a referral. When using the internet you are touching thousands of potential prospects with each piece of content you put up on the internet.

Some of the online marketing strategies you can use to attract prospects to you include:

- blogging
- article marketing
- social marketing
- Pay-Per Click advertising

Back to combining offline and online marketing methods… you’ve probably heard the expression, "high tech, high touch" system. This refers to the fact that you’re using high tech methods of attracting prospects on the internet, with no human interaction.

You’ll want to add some "high touch" tools to your sales pipeline as well. An excellent high touch tool is postcard marketing. Once a prospect has opted into your list and given you their contact information, send them a postcard or greeting card to thank them and welcome them to your list.

Greeting cards have the highest open rate of any marketing tool. And you’ll have a higher sales and sponsor rate when you add high touch elements because your prospects still want to develop a relationship with you, not your computer.
